Genomics, while crucial, can be complex and often perceived as intimidating to a general audience. The challenge was to make this fascinating science more accessible and engaging, transforming intricate topics into compelling content that resonates with both newcomers and seasoned experts. The goal was to make biodiversity genomics feel relevant, exciting, and impactful for a wider range of people.

To make genomics more engaging, we infused humor and used captivating imagery that helped bring the science to life. We simplified complex concepts by incorporating relatable facts, making the subject more approachable for both experts and the general public. This strategy helped bridge the gap between specialized knowledge and everyday curiosity, transforming dry content into an exciting, accessible experience for all audiences.

At Phoenix Art Museum, I help shape social media strategy across platforms, translating exhibitions, programs, events, and institutional stories into content designed for digital audiences. My approach balances the Museum’s established voice with platform-specific trends and storytelling techniques, finding ways to make art feel accessible, relevant, and engaging without losing the integrity of the work.

From concept to final post, I create original social content through photography, videography, editing, graphic design, illustration and copywriting. My work ranges from artist interviews and exhibition storytelling to behind-the-scenes moments, event coverage, and short-form video—adapting each story to the format and platform where it can have the greatest impact.

Social media is one of the Museum’s most immediate connections to its community. I create content that invites audiences into Phoenix Art Museum before they ever walk through its doors, highlighting not only the art on view but the artists, people, programs, and experiences that make the Museum a living part of Phoenix’s cultural landscape.

“Boris Karloff stars as the screen's most memorable monster in what many consider to be the greatest horror film ever made.” – Presenting FRANKENSTEIN DOUBLE FEATURE (1931 + 1935) on Friday, October 31, at Phoenix Art Museum.
FRANKENSTEIN (1931)
A brilliant scientist (Colin Clive) creates a living being from parts of dead bodies in this stylish adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic 1818 novel, which helped establish Universal as the top studio for horror in the 1930s. Director James Whale (The Invisible Man) worked with cinematographer Arthur Edeson (Casablanca) and art director Charles D. Hall (Dracula) to evoke a properly Gothic, black-and-white look, while the striking makeup design by Jack Pierce and the eloquent, wordless performance of Boris Karloff helped to create what is, nearly a century later, still the most iconic cinematic depiction of Frankenstein’s monster. Estimated runtime: 70 min.
BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935)
Bride of Frankenstein is not the first horror film to garner an Oscar nomination, but it is easily one of the most beloved. The sequel to Frankenstein finds The Monster (Boris Karloff) demanding that Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) build him a companion. Elsa Lanchester’s “bride,” with her singular shock of white-streaked hair has become one of movie history’s most recognizable characters. Bride of Frankenstein is delirious, atmospheric entertainment that has inspired generations of filmmakers and is widely considered to be among the greatest sequels ever made. Estimated runtime: 75 min.
